You use a broad brush to pain all Christians. I am glad that I do not believe that all non-believers are as crude, nasty, and stupid as you. I have diabetes, asthmy and a heart condtion. I am a believer in God not because of the Bible, not because of some preacher, not because of my family, but because I have seen God work in my life. I would never stop taking my medication and seeking medical health. God heals through medicine and medical practioners. You try to make it appear that you are understanding of some Chritians and their beliefs, but in reality you are not. You are not tolerant of anyone that believes differently than you. I could care less what you believe, oh, I would like for you to have faith in a supreme being, but if you choose not I certainly will not loose any sleep. That is your problem

Another shinning example of the detrimental effects of religion. It poisons the mind with ridiculous nonsense. When are people going to smarten up and realize that the bible is a complete work of fiction. All copies should be burned and pissed on, imo, because quite litterally, the bible killed that child.

That’s what I said… but, I’ve encountered a total of one person said they plan to vote GOP. Out of the 500ish doors I’ve knocked on, and the hundreds I’ve talked to doing on-site canvasing. One.

I would be amazed, barring any unforeseen circumstances (another us-soil terrorist attack, finding OBL, catching Obama sodomizing an infant while smoking a blunt rolled in the Deceleration of Independence), if PA wasn’t a blue state come November. Erie is a lot more right leaning than the other cities, if they’re this one sided it has to be even more noted in places like Philly. And frankly, if the dems get Erie, Pittsburgh, and Philly they get PA. There’s simply not enough people in the superconservative rural areas to come close to the population there.

I think it’s a state to state thing. Federally there is no law either protecting them, or making it specifically illegal to use faith healing instead of medical treatment for a child. Some states have passed laws on their own making it illegal.

As for the current climate… I think we’re at the beginning of a left hand swing. Not judging by NY, just my work in Erie, the GOP, the war, and the religious right are quite out of favor with the average person.

The story mentions that the law no longer “shields faith healers”. You have to wonder how long before, given the current political climate, some nipplehead repeals said law.
